Through a kaleidoscopic lens Make Believe runs on a loop of 1 hour and 5 minutes, continually morphing between the distinguishable dancing limbs of a young girl (legs, hair, torso), and an abstraction of patterns formed from her costume.
Make Believe was created during artist residencies at RAID Projects (Los Angeles) and the Central Utah Arts Center. This project was funded with the Australia Council for the Arts, New Work grant.
The piece was first exhibited in a solo exhibition at Anna Pappas Gallery and has since been shown in China, Greece, Romania, Santa Fe, San Francisco, Indonesia, Taiwan, South Korea, and Sydney and was a finalist in the Guirgus New Art Prize, and the Substation Art Prize both in Melbourne, Australia.
